A new Revelation

ZarinDecember 21, 2012. An ominous date fast rushing upon us. A specific slot in the fabric of time determined by many sources of prophecy to be a terminus between the past and the future of mankind's existence upon this planet. These references include: the Mayan Long Count, I Ching, the Internet, Nostradamus, Hopi Prophecy, the Bible and so on. There are as many opinions, both positive and negative, as there are persons interested in the consequences of this specific date....opinions that depend on personality, knowledge and World View.

One could approach this subject purely scientifically from where come numerous scenarios of disaster and catastrophe i.e. Earthquakes, Tidal Waves, Volcanoes, Meteors, Planet X, Pandemic Diseases, Nuclear War, Scientific Experiments gone out of control, Global Warming, etc. Any one or group of which could occur at any time. This particular date of 12 21 2012, however, was calculated by the Great Mayan time-keepers as the end of what they refer to as their Fourth World. A Calendar position, which happens to be the Winter Solstice and is also the time in which our Sun will line up with the center of our Galaxy...euphemistically referred to by the Mayans as the Navel of the Dark Rift (a dark and dusty area in the center of the Milky Way). This singular event occurs only after so many thousands of years. This date of 12 21 2012 also happens to be the height of the current Solar Maximum Cycle when Solar flares are most likely and most powerful. Infer what you will, but, be aware that much of NASA's budget has been spent on creating and launching many instruments and satellites to study the Sun...our primary source of life. Curious timing? Especially, when in 2005, a Solar flare during the Minimum Cycle was the highest ever recorded... mercifully moving in the opposite direction of Earth.

Now, I have been researching this 2012 conundrum for a long time and have given several lectures on the subject. As a Psychic here in Las Vegas, who works with the TAROT frequently; it occurred to me to look and see if the TAROT might offer some insight into this date; especially, since this is the most popular form of divination of our time. I took the date 12 21 20 12 and looked at the Rider-Waite rectified deck designed by Pamela Coleman Smith. There before me, in the order of the numbers 12 21 20 12, lay the High Arcana of: THE HANGED MAN, THE WORLD, JUDGEMENT and THE HANGED MAN. My first thought was one of extreme surprise. Then I asked." What are the odds that these four cards would comprise that date?" Did Pamela Coleman Smith do this with purpose or was she guided subliminally by a higher power?

My next task was to try to interpret what these four cards meant.

I am sure there will be numerous opinions on the meaning of these four cards. The beauty of the TAROT is its capability of being variously interpreted based on knowledge of the TAROT and the personal experience and/or bias of each individual reader. Moreover, there is no "universal" locked down meaning to any Tarot card.

I decided to give a possible take on what these four Tarot formats might possibly mean.

THE HANGED MAN: The actual image is that of the Celtic God, Odin, who is reputed to have hung himself upside down from a tree, quite painfully, to discover a form of divination called "the RUNES." The image has nothing to do with Christianity and is not St. Peter being crucified upside down. The essence of this card is "painfully gained knowledge," which can lead to illumination. There is a very subtle reference to the Egyptian Ankh (Cross of Life) in the design structure Pamela Coleman Smith created of the upside down man with a glow around his head. Possibly a reference to the sun, which an earlier similar image of ( preceding the Ankh) was called the Tau Cross and was a depiction of the Sun reflected upon water. This seemingly insignificant reference to the Sun may turn out to be not so insignificant on 21 12 2012.

THE WORLD: I take this card as obviously literal, although it can also mean the inner world as well. You may infer what you will, but I suggest you take a very, very close look at this card. The images on it are extremely complex as well as subtle; some of which, in some circles of interpretation, refer to the center of the Galaxy. There are also other astrological references quite open to individual selectivity.

JUDGEMENT: Again it is obvious, but I suggest you take a closer look at this card.

THE HANGED MAN: The sequence begins and ends with this card. But do not forget it is about "painfully gained knowledge and/or illumination."

There are more cards in the sequence which follow 12 21 20 12. There is 0 (i.e.the countdown), the 10 days between 12 21 2012 and 2013. which could be ANY of the Tarot cards with 10 at the top. Take your choice or all...there are five for each number up to 10. My favorite is the 10 of pentagrams which is a direct reference to the Kaballah (the path of life).

Finally you will come to 20 13. I will let you enjoy the experience of discovering which two cards they are. However, you already know one from the 12 20 20 12 combination. When you do discover the card with 13 on it take a very close look at it. It is most revealing.

One of my favorite sayings is: Many people have predicted the end of the World. It only takes one to be right.

I don't really believe that 12 21 2012 is the END OF THE WORLD, but it definitely could be the end of one world and the beginning of another. What the consequences of that change might be are not yet set. Humans have the free will to change their destiny. They have only to decide how to change and what destiny they wish to have. However, the history of mankind and the momentum of our choices do NOT auger well. Only time can tell.
